Clients: Mid-thirties professional couple with a dog.
The block is set high amongst the backdrop of one of Yeppoon's easterly, ocean facing mountainsides The home is positioned to take advantage of the views, but also the surrounding bush.
The home will be built in stages, starting with a small, double-storey studio home as stage 1, offering 90 square metres of internal living space.
This studio home is designed to be extended on in to future to become a full-sized family home. Initially, it will be a space serving a more simple and humble lifestyle and need. The master plan and overall aesthetic concept have been developed with this studio stage to ensure a congruent final design and intentional placement and form.
In the meantime, it fulfils the functional requirement of a professional couple's lifestyle now. One works away during the day and the other works from home, together with their dog.
Site Plan - Positioning the studio home on the lower tier of three site levels leaves plenty of room for future stages and extentions. Initially this is the most cost-effective level to build on and will be out of the way for future construction. In the meantime a garden will be planted on the middle terrace and a fire place and outdoor entertaining space will be set-up on the top rear terrace; profitting from the best of the views to the ocean whilst in these early stages.
